IAD - The TekkenPiano

Heyho,

Welcome to my latest project: The TekkenPiano

For IAD (Interaction design) I wanted to combine two of my passions: Piano and Tekken. I`m playing Tekken since the release of Tekken 6 (oct 2009), and started teaching myself piano in june last year. I practice both on a daily basis ever since, and they became a major part of my life.

So this is how the TekkenPiano works:

The box contains 3 major components

   _An Arduino

   _A breadboard with transistors

_A paewang PCB (from an arcadestick)

The Arduino receives data from the digital piano via midi. Unfortunately I wasn´t able to get a midi-shield for arduino to work, so i had to get a way around that. The piano is connected to a PC via midi to USB adaptor. I have to run my code in Processing, that translates the incoming midi-data, and sends it to the arduino via USB. The arduino then triggers the transistors, according to the incoming data. The transistors close circuits on the paewang PCB, which results in an input command for the Xbox360.
